Meg Maker

Meg Maker is an American artist curious about the intersection of nature, culture, and place. Her visual abstractions draw inspiration from organic forms, mingling the real and the imagined. A profound colorist, she works in oil, gouache, collage, and digital media to create gestural, richly textured, and multi-layered imagery that echoes the complexities of the natural world. Also an award-winning literary nonfiction writer and food journalist, Maker travels extensively to explore our personal and cultural ties to nature and how they affect our sense of self, family, and geography.
