Melita Johnston is a colourist abstract expressionist artist. She paints in the highest quality acrylics on archival quality Museum stretched canvas.

A confident vivid style, strokes of moving colour are applied with a palate knife creating soft textures, multiply layers are brush painted giving strength of colour contrasted with smooth muted textures. Melita Johnston was born in 1965. Living in the lovely rural town of Geraldine, she attended the local High School and then Otago University, Dunedin, achieving a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. She has been painting fulltime since the early 1990‘s. Melita paints at her country home in the beautiful Tasman Bay, Nelson, New Zealand.
