Inspired by the daily interactions and family photographs, Milica Lazarevic explores themes of the individual, identity, and the relation humans has with the society and nature. Portrayed mostly in muted and cool tones, she creates stylized scenes that creates a sense of nostalgia.
Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows internationally.
She has been awarded with the:
-Second prize, by the Drawing Foundation Vladimir Velickovic and Gallery Haos under the auspices of the Academy of Sciences and Arts, Belgrade (2021)
-Reward of the 1st Dafen Biennial Shenzhen China (2018)
- Second prize, Nis Art Foundation, Phillip Morris for painting (2013)
-Award Branko Sotra by the Faculty of Applied Arts (2011)
-Grant by the Republic Serbia Foundation for young artist and scientist (2009-2011)
-Valedictorian of the Faculty of Applied Arts class of 2006. University of Arts in Belgrade (2011)
Milica received her MFA from the University of Arts in Belgrade, Serbia where she is now pursuing her PhD.
