Hello, I’m Mike Margolis, an abstract artist based in the vibrant heart of Phoenix. My canvas is a playground where colors dance, shapes converse, and design elements weave stories. Let me share what my art means to me and the journey behind it.
1. Inspiration from Life: My work is a true celebration of life—the ordinary moments that often slip by unnoticed. The way sunlight filters through leaves, the rhythm of footsteps on a bustling street, the laughter shared over coffee—these are my muses. I seek beauty every day, capturing emotions and memories that resonate with all of us.
2. Materials and Process: My palette is a riot of hues—bold reds, serene blues, and everything in between. Acrylics, oils, and mixed media are my companions. I layer, scrape, and blend, allowing each stroke to tell a story. The canvas becomes a mirror, reflecting my inner world and the world around me. It’s a dance of texture and color, guided by intuition and spontaneity.
3. Design Elements and Shapes: Shapes emerge—a curve, a triangle, a spiral. They’re more than geometry; they’re symbols. Circles represent unity, squares stability, and jagged lines evoke raw emotion. I play with negative space, inviting viewers to complete the narrative. My art whispers...
