Moram Ali

My work is inspired by my view of life as a Buddhist who chants Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.
I am 72yrs old retired, born in the uk. I like to travel,play improvised music in style of Derek Bailey.
I started painting and drawing as a kid and although others took my work seriously i let it go till i was about 50, when i was able to do a foundation course i found i had a natural talent for drawing and figurative painting.
Although i now paint abstract for me i find it more real and a greater challenge. My greatest influence has been Frank Auerbach his commitment is very impressive, also Hans Hoffman,Alberto Giacommetti, Lee Krasner, Gillian Ayers Jackson Pollock, Alan Davie and many others have influenced me.
