Nadeem Baghdadi

Growing up in the British Northern County of Lancashire, my creativity was recognized and encouraged from a very early age. Subsequently, I attended the Cumbria Institute of Art and Design. I continued developing a passion for fine art, and my initial training were in drawing, painting, and sketching.
As an aspiring artist living in a deprived area of Lancashire, my passion for art was often shunned and not encouraged. Amidst criticism, I held onto my passion and continued to create art from a deep, personal place. For many years, my work went unrecognized, but my resilience and determination kept me moving forward. Despite the challenges, I remained committed to my artistic vision and journey.
I spent a lot of time looking at the works of Lucien Freud and Francis Bacon as well as impressionist painters such as Monet and Pollock. Within this period, which mainly consisted of self-learning, I looked and studied intensely the form, both within the human figure and the form contained within inanimate objects.
