At the core of my work lies a deep commitment to crafting a visual legacy of liberation, celebrating the resilience and strength of Black women. Through my art, I portray moments of resistance intertwined with elements of joy, leisure, imagination, and pleasure. It is within these multifaceted experiences that the true spirit of liberation manifests.
Liberation in the context of Black womanhood resonates deeply with me, as it signifies the reclaiming of our narrative and the dismantling of oppressive systems that have historically marginalized us. Liberation embodies the essence of true autonomy and allows us the freedom to celebrate and express our unique identities while unapologetically embracing our heritage and culture. Through liberation, we forge paths of empowerment, breaking barriers to create a future where Black women thrive.
Influenced and inspired by the rich tapestry of Black women's literature, Afrofuturism, and the pulsating rhythms of Black music, my creations weave together a symphony of visual narratives rooted in resistance.
