Bringing Bronze Age Greek Hieroglyphes Back to Life

In my current series of works I show interactions and struggles between human figures and ancient Greek (pre-Homeric) logograms, syllabograms, and hieroglyphs. The human figures in my works are all, in their own ways, making contact with forgotten words and meanings. We are facing a mass extinction of languages. Gone forever will be their words and their cultures. In my works I reach back through time in a search for the sounds and meanings we have lost. With image and color I try to reconnect with the forgotten words of my homeland.

His visual art has been part of recent group exhibits in New York (2024) Amsterdam (2023), Brussels (2023), Berlin (2023) London (2023), and Pennsylvania’s Hazelton Art League (2023 and 2024), which has acquired four of his works for their permanent collection. A series of six works based on the Finnish epic, the Kalevala, is part of the permanent collection at the State Museum of Urban Sculpture in St. Petersburg. His most recent individual exhibition took place at the gallery of the Manchester Poetry Library, Manchester Metropolitan University.
