Born and bred in Boston, Massachusetts (USA)
Earliest influences were John Marin, early Dutch Master still life painting, Nancy and Sluggo comics, Batman and Superman comics, then on to TinTin comics Japanese prins (Yoshitoshi, Utamaro, Hiroshige, and Hokusai)
Later influences were Richard Yarde, Morton Sachs and Paul Georges
Oil is my favorite medium...it can be big, messy and earthy....I also like gouache, which is more intimate and delicate, and ink drawing which is as intimate as gouache but more controlled...at least the way I use these mediums

I have paintings in the Danforth Museum, the New Britain Museum of American Art, the Rose Art Museum, Northeastern University, Trinity Church as well as many private collections
I've won 2 Massachusetts Artists Fellowships, one in 1982 and one in 1986
