Born in Munich, Judith was inspired to draw and paint at an early age by her father Herbert Ploberger, a renowned representative painter of the New Objectivity Movement ( Neue Sachlichkeit) and recognised as the leading anti-war-painter and outstanding costume and set-designer. After 30+ years in London Judith now lives and works near Berlin, Germany. Her favourite subjects are people. Judith's painting is characterised by her sensual use of line and strong colour which springs from her early graphics training, but which combine in the portraits to evoke a powerful sense of sexuality.
When asked about her influences:"I have to mention my dad first followed by Tamara de Lempicka, Christian Schad, Jusepe de Ribera, Hieronymus Bosch, Caravaggio, Italian Medieval painters and Walt Disney".
Trained at the Blocherer School in Munich, she worked as a graphic designer and illustrated a number of 'underground' publications.
