Priya Sridevi

When I was young, my favorite pass time was to draw and paint. As I got older, this love never faded. I am now a cancer biologist at a prestigious research institute in New York. Art relaxes me and I try to make time for it. I spend my free time working on various art projects. I use a variety of mediums such as charcoals, pastels, acrylics, watercolors and mixed media. I have also experimented with intricate hand cut stencil. I have recently started painting on canvas that is texturized with newspaper and gesso. I love Impressionism and draw inspiration from the works of Impressionistic masters. Though I have done a lot of work with charcoal, bright colors are my passion. My pieces are directly influenced by my travels, people and nature.
