Ondrej Prosicky

Originally a geologist, journeys to active volcanoes and studies of remote national parks brought me to intensive photography of wild nature.

My aim is to record the behaviour of animals in their natural environment in an imaginative way. Finding a new angle of seeing the animal, is my longterm mission. I have visited most places of the continental Europe, south Atlantic, the Arctic, Africa, Asia and every year I visit Middle and South America to widen my collection of wildlife images. Apart from that, I strive to draw public attention to issues related to endangered species, support conservation areas and national parks.

My clients are publishing houses, publishers of magazines, advertising agencies or national parks authorities. Since 2006 I have been working closely with Canon and later with Sony equipment, they both support me on my missions. I publish my experiences on regular basis.

I studied geology at the Faculty of Natural Science of the Charles University in Prague and at the Technical University of Ostrava.
Photography is my lifetime passion that eventually became my profession.

I held more than 50 photo exhibitions of my art in the past. One of my best achievements is taking part in the finals of the prestigious photography competition "Wildlife Photographer of the Year". I am a member of the Association of Professional Photographers of the Czech Republic since 2009.
