Ramesh Thorat, a visual artist working as a freelancer, was born on 26th July 1964 in Pune (Maharashtra). He studied Diploma and Painting (Fine Art) He has held 13 solo Shows and 92 Group Shows including - 54th , 55th , 60th and 61st National Exhibition of Art – Lalit kala Academy Delhi , 28th SCZCC- Senior Category and International Group Shows in Kolkata, Delhi, Pune and Lucknow , also participated in India Art Festival – 2011, 2014,2016, 2017,2018, National charity Shows & many National Workshop / Camps. He received awards like Camlin Foundation, Mood Indigo Mumbai, Chitari Academy State Award 2006, Bombay Art Society Award 2008, Pune Festival State Award 2010, Artist of the year Award 2012 IAF Magazine and Govt. Maharashtra State Award 2013.
