NOW'S THE TIME to collect a piece or two as I am prunning prices down to the bare branches. I have five works preserved in the Bank Of America Collection: four drawings and a shaped paper painting like many you will see on this site.

I offer large, dramatic and mysterious works, rich in detail, that catch the eye from across the street and entertain at very close range.
A simple frameless, plexiglass treatment works best so the shape floats freely. The large pieces are shipped rolled on a large diameter core in a padded custom box.
Each new series shoots for a re-shuffling of the psychic deck. There are several currents that run consistently through my work, one carries the question, "What does it mean to be a human being?" I identify Universal Human Foibles; explore the anatomy/physiology of body and mind; ponder our evolution.

In 2014 I published "Leave 'Em Hungry, A Love Story and Cautionary Tale," a deeply personal recounting shot through with the heartbreak of addiction and codependency, about my life with the late jazz saxophonist Frank Morgan.

"Sound of Redemption, The Frank Morgan Story" a documentary produced by crime fiction writer Michael Connelly, in which I play my significant part, is available for v...

B.A. U.C.L.A. 1974
M.F.A. The School Of The Art Institute of Chicago 1976

I was privileged to work with the elegant William Brice and the enigmatic Charles Garabedian at U.C.L.A. in the early Seventies.

I then traveled to Chicago for graduate work at The School of the Art Institute.

When I returned to my home town, Los Angeles, in 1976, I began working and selling independently. Then I met Mr. Frank Morgan, legendary alto saxophonist and confirmed heroin addict and my life completely skipped its track.

I travelled in the small world of jazz performance escorting Frank to the Village Vanguard for his New York debut in December 1986 and accompanying him through the wirlwind of his comeback, and beyond- though not always together- to his deathbed in Minneapolis, December 14, 2007.

2015 Brooklyn, New York at the Peninsula Art Space. The show featured works by many artists living in Red Hook during the Nineties.

I was very proud when an original drawing was chosen by the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce to honor departing consul general Masatoshi Muto and his wife.

My works are in the collection of Bank Of America; The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Iconography Collection; Saint Andrew's Cathedral in Honolulu; White and Case at Rockefeller Center, and many private collections.

My personal website holds a selected list of exhibitions dating back to 1976.
