Andrey Shirokov

Honored Artist of Russia. He works in the genres of portrait, still life, landscapes and narrative compositions.Artist works daily, writes his paintings in his studio or at plein airs. He makes sketches, trying to use every day of the year. In recent years he regularly travels abroad on creative assignments, in particular, in Poland, USA, Greece, Germany, Great Britain, which certainly broadens the artistic experience of Andrei Shirokov, whose creative sense is in the endless knowledge of life and man. The artist's works have been purchased by art museums in Russia, as well as private collectors abroad: Germany, Belgium, France, USA and Poland.
The artist has been awarded numerous diplomas, including a Diploma of the Russian Academy of Arts

Andrey graduated from the Kirov Art College in 1980.
Shirokov's trips to the Arts Centre of the Artist's Association of the Russian SFSR "Akademicheskaya Dacha " became a kind of "Schools of Arts “in the 1980s. There was a special atmosphere of complete immersion in the painting. During his daily work with sketching, he accumulated his own observations and assessments of what he saw, communicated and used the advice of distinguished masters of the Realist Style of landscape paintings. Among them are V. M. Sidorov, Y. P. Kugach, A. P. and S. P. Tkachev brothers

Since 1976, Andrey Shirokov has participated in various regional exhibitions and, later, in international art plein airs in Europe. His most successful exhibitions include personal exhibitions in Athens (1993, 2003, 2004), Warsaw (2003) and Szczecin (2007), Chicago and Santa Fe (2007), France and Italy. He maintains contacts with colleagues from Belarus, Slovakia, Poland, Greece, Italy, USA, Japan, and the Baltic States. Andrei Shirokov's paintings have been acquired by art museums in Russia: the Vyatka Art Museum, the Murmansk Regional Art Museum. Some pictures of the artist are in private foreign collections in USA, France, Germany, Poland, Belgium.

Shirokov's work is widely represented on the professional websites of the Union of Artists of Russia, the Vyatka Art Museum named after V. M. and A. M. Vasnetsov, the State Catalogue of the Museum Fund of the Russian Federation under the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. Paintings Andrei Mikhailovich were sold at the British auction "Roseberys".

In February 2021, in the exhibition hall of the Vyatka Museum of Art. V. M. and A. M. Vasnetsov held a personal exhibition of Andrei Shirokov, dedicated to the sixtieth anniversary of the artist. It represented the whole ran...
