Stephen Place

I live in St Ives, Cornwall, where the huge expanses of sea and sky are always changing in their colours, shapes and moods. These varying views - in a crystalline light - seem to lend themselves naturally to the medium of paint on canvas with its endless possibilities of expression.

I studied graphic design and worked in art direction and illustration, before turning to painting full time. I have been studying anatomy, perspective, composition and aesthetics.
