Steve Lush is a maritime artist with many national accolades to his credit. Steve has been painting in watercolor, oil and acrylic for the past 30 years having learned the craft of drawing from his artist mother. His watercolor, oil and acrylic works have essentially been a self taught effort. Steve is a Signature Member of the American Watercolor Society, the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, the American Society of Marine Artists and the New England Watercolor Society. Steve is also a Coast Guard Artist with several of his works in USCG's permanent collection in Washington, DC
Steve is a self taught artist.
Steve is a regular contributor to the International Marine Art Exhibition held annually at the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport, CT. where he has also won (2) Museum Purchase Awards. He is also a regular contributor to the American Watercolor Society (AWS) and Transparent Watercolor Society (TWSA) Annual International Exhibition with (2) two awards from the TWSA.
Steve is also a regular contributor to regional and national exhibitions of the American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA)
Steve has work in the permanent collections of the Noble Maritime Museum, Staten, Is., NY, the Custom House Maritime Museum, Newburyport, MA., the Museum of America and the Sea, Mystic Seaport, CT., the Heritage Collection at the US Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT., the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and the US Coast Guard Art Program (COGAP), Washington, DC.
