When I was a child my parents would take our family on nature walks and point out and identify birds. As an adult I feel drawn to the subject of birds, their lives and their environments.
The birds I observe here, Blackbird, Blue jay and Mourning Dove, are similar to the ones in my homeland. Just as birds gather pieces for their nests, I gather paper pieces from fashion catalogs, old books, music notes, maps, wallpaper sample books and more to create my birds. I also get inspiration from the flora and fauna outside my studio window. Finding shrubs or a branch that creates just the right environment for the assembled bird. I use scrap paper, acrylic paints and found objects on wood.
I am a graduate of Beit Berel College, School of Art in Israel. I work, teach and play in my California base studio.
