Marcelo von Schwartz is an Argentinean film director, architect, art photographer and sound architect. His work is known for focusing on the dark side of the things. He has worked on over 15 film/video art projects, and recently released feature film Dark Bridge Binaural Brainwaves, which utilizes the hypnotic qualities of binaural beats for heightened cinematic effect.

Creative journey
Marcelo von Schwartz completed his studies at the University of Buenos Aires in architecture and went on to study filmmaking under David José Kohn, one of the most influential Argentine filmmakers and a precursor to the Argentine Nouvelle Vague of the 60s (one of the "60s generation").
In the 1990s he moved to Barcelona, where he started his career as a producer and filmmaker. After working as Art Director and Production Designer on various independent films, he wrote and produced the 35mm Neo-expressionist short film Phoenix. The film competed in over 30 festivals worldwide, winning recognition and prizes.

In 2014 released the Binaural Brainwave version of his movie Dark Bridge, his first long feature film, entirely shot in Thailand. It is significant in being the first feature film to include a mixed Theta Binaural Brainwave through the e...

Von Schwartz took delight in a kind of deceit, desiring his viewers to derive the same sensation as when entertained by a magician or a visionary architect. His art is a journey of discovery where images become a continuous play of interwoven impossible spaces and perspectives. Marcelo von Schwartz helps us see new relationships between point, surface and spaces. His special worlds are both strange and possible in an imaginary near future.

At the same time, von Schwartz is capable of concocting potent images with near-universal appeal -something to which more fine artists would aspire. At a time when banality is ruling the art scene, von Schwartz -frequently inspired by universes w...
