Inger Aino Lutter

I suspect it was spending my childhood in the grey "3 Steel Company" city of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, that left me with such a desire to portray another vision of the world with meticulously painted still lives and portraits of people revealing both their interior and exterior lives, and landscapes with open skies and broad fields.

My work is rooted in both traditional and modern methods of painting. After receiving a BFA in both Art Studio and Art History from Concordia University, Montreal, I was extensively trained in classical drawing and painting techniques, and Old Master techniques - all followed up by workshops in fast and loose painting with internationally known modern masters. Over the past 30 years, my work has been exhibited in numerous group and solo shows, published in several magazines, and can be found in corporate and private collections in Canada and the U.S. Recently 2 portrait paintings have won awards in juried exhibitions.
