Ciel Bergman

I was born and grew up in Berkeley, California. I painted in the Bay Area under the name Cheryl Bowers. At 50 I changed my name to Ciel Bergman. A former Professor of Art @ UCSB, I have been painting for 50 years. I have work in several major museums including The Metropolitan in NYC. Presently I live and work in Santa Fe, New Mexico

Initially trained as an R.N. in Psychiatry. Lived four years in Europe visiting all the museums, upon return studied painting with Peter Blos and Vincent Perez in the Bay Area. Graduated with Honors from SFAI earning an MFA in Painting. Conversation with Georgia O'Keeffe.
