Yu-Chen Chiu

Yu-Chen Chiu is an award-winning Taiwanese-American photographer whose work explores memory, identity, and belonging.

Her practice blends documentary and fine art and is rooted in a personal narrative of in-betweenness. Through a poetic lens, she offers lyrical meditations on home, migration, and family. She works fluidly across film and digital formats, mapping the emotional terrain of a life lived between places and inherited memory. Her work is a space to reflect, feel, and remember.

Her long-term projects—including Inside Out, America Seen, and The Land Remembers—form a cohesive and timeless body of work that blends autobiographical storytelling with universal themes. Her photographs invite viewers to reflect on the unseen layers of life and history.
Chiu’s work has been featured in Smithsonian Magazine, Aperture, and Travel + Leisure, and exhibited internationally, including at Fotografiska New York and the Louvre Paris.

She offers limited-edition gelatin silver darkroom prints and archival pigment prints for collectors seeking meaningful, contemplative art that endures.
