Efraín Méndez

Efraín Méndez Corrales, was born in San José, Costa Rica in 1982, he has studied Painting and Engraving at the University of Costa Rica and in the "Taller Experimental de Gráfica"at Havana Cuba. He completed his Bachelor studies and moved on to complete his "Licenciatura" degree. His subject matter is a reflexion on his search of the collective and individual identity through ludic and imaginary places, beings or situations; all influenced by the place in which he grew up. His work has a psychological connotation between the real and the imaginary boundaries.

2005-2013 - BFA in Printmaking at the University of Costa Rica's Shcool of Fine Arts.

2007-International Workshop: Multiple Transparencies, at “La Joven Estampa Competition. “ Havana, Cuba.

2003- Drawing Worshop given by Rossella Matamoros (Costa Rican Painter) at the Costa Rican Museum of Art (MAC).
