I am LaGamine (Anna Samarina), a contemporary abstract artist from Russia, currently based in France. I create textured mixed-media paintings that live at the intersection of interior design and emotional storytelling.
My work explores the quiet tension between light and darkness, silence and inner movement. I use acrylics, texture pastes and metal leaf to build layered, tactile surfaces with soft gradients, deep voids and subtle golden traces – visual metaphors for healing, resilience and the inner voice we often keep unspoken.
Before fully stepping into the role of an artist, I worked as a UX lead designing complex digital products. This experience shapes the way I compose each piece: I think in flows, rhythms and focal points, so that every painting not only looks striking on its own, but also transforms the atmosphere of a room and supports the life unfolding around it.
My paintings are created for contemporary, thoughtfully curated spaces – homes, studios, boutique hotels and offices where art is not just decoration but a quiet, steady presence. If you are looking for a statement piece that feels both calm and emotionally charged, I would be happy for you to find it in my work. Commissions and custom sizes are welcome.
