BOTANICUM Series

The series of ornamental graphics titled Botanicum is inspired directly by the forms of plant leaves from my garden on the border of Mazovia and Podlasie and indirectly by Art Nouveau plant compositions. A series of precise, classic hand drawings served as a module and were digitally processed into symmetrical graphic compositions. A collection of original drawings was used to create graphics made of carefully selected leaves, including: grapes, acacia, fern, hornbeam, birch, oak and grass. The colors of the graphics are my personal interpretation - together with the linear form, they create the atmosphere of vintage-style engravings.
