Mixed media/digital artist based in Yorkshire Dales, shortlisted and selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2013 and 2019, see my work on the BBC2 Royal Academy Summer Exhibition documentary, June 2019.
He has returned to his love for visual art and his deep interest in the Dadaists and Surrealists to whom his work makes unconscious reference and which has subsequently informed his philosophical approach.
An existential form of art, making contemporary reference to some of the experimental techniques of avant-garde artists such as Man Ray (eg. found objects) and the philosophical underpinnings of the Dadaists and Surrealists. Using found and often decaying objects the work gives new life and creates unique new works of art.
The Yorkshire-based digital artist Stuart Wroe was born in Skipton in the old West Riding of Yorkshire in 1958. He studied O level and A level Art and trained to be a teacher at Middleton St George College of Education in the late 70s. He obtained a BA in 2000, a Post Graduate Diploma in Overseas Development Management in 2006 and an M Sc in 2007 and is currently studying for a PhD with the University of Lancaster.
