“In Search of the Sublime”
My primary passion is the magnificence of the natural world and what it feels like to be a human in the face of it. What are the qualities that make us stop in awe? I’m usually trying to capture the feeling evoked, rather than exactly what a scene looks like, and particularly enjoy abstracting awe-inspiring elements from nature, such as light breaking through clouds, crashing waves, or the complex patinas created by entropy, and representing them in different contexts and styles.

Art offers freedom; people are complex. For me, different moods produce very different painting styles, and I embrace that diversity.
