Yury Levit was born in Leningrad, now St. Petersburg, Russia.
During his early years, he was influenced by these Flemish artists; Rubens, Percellis, Cappelle
Dutch artists; Vermeer, Rembrandt, Vlieger and later on these following French Impressionist's; Sisley, Modigliani, and Van Gogh.
Several of his oil paintings and graphic works were left behind before coming to the USA and belong to a private collections in the former USSR.
After 1997, Yury began painting in a expressive abstraction style in the likes of Vassily Kandinsky & Jasper Johns
During the 1990's he was living in New York City & currently resides & works in Northern Coastal Florida.
