‘My hands, soul and whole body, confronting and together with raw material and dreams’. Cecil Kemperink's sculptures show her multi-faceted background in art, dance, textile and fashion. She studied Textile and Art, one year Fashion and is still dancing. The connection between her various passions becomes visible within her sculptures. She explores the concept of 'space' and body, and plays with rhythm, shape, sound, movement and energy. The important symbolism of a circle, unity, infinity, power, is in every part of her work. It gets even more intense with every new link connected. The interactive sculptures show the importance of each circle. Leaning on each other, leading or supportive links together; they are all connected. Inspired by the ongoing movements in nature, like the wind, the tides, breathing… Cecil is working with utmost attention in an instinctive way with the earthly clay, embracing time and energy. The constant consideration is the boundary between shape and reshape, solid and movements, vulnerability and strength. The sculptures are very strong and at the same time vulnerable; like we humans are. Cecil Kemperink 2025 Kemperink regularly exhibits in Europe, Azia and The Netherlands, makes performances, video's and catwalk shows. She has exhibited in South Korea (ROK), Taiwan(TWN), Japan (J), Mondovi and Milan (I), Vallauris (F) and many other museums and galleries. Her works can be found in the collections of: Ariana ceramic museum Geneva (CH), TIAA collection (USA), Korea Ceramic Foundation (KOCEF collection), CODA museum (NL), The Foundation for Contemporary Ceramic Arts Kecskemét (HU), Ceramics Museum Tiendschuur (NL) and many private collections. Kemperink works en lives in Esch, NL, where she continues to expand and enrich all our senses.
