Dragan Cvetkovic Cvele

Dragan Cvetković Cvele (b. 1961, Zrenjanin) is a prominent Serbian academic painter based in Belgrade. His powerful artistic practice moves fluidly between raw Informel abstract art and expressive, symbolic figurative motifs, focusing deeply on internal identity and the tactile qualities of the canvas.

A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, where he obtained his Master’s degree in Painting in 1997, Cvetković has been an influential figure in the region's contemporary art scene. He has been a member of the Association of Fine Artists of Serbia (ULUS) since 1995 and has served on its selection jury since 2017.

With over 15 solo and 100 group exhibitions globally, his artworks are held in numerous museum and private collections worldwide. Through layered materials, energetic brushstrokes, and heavily scratched, textured surfaces, his work invites viewers into an intense dialogue with pure matter.
