Elina Plume-Priedite is a Latvian visual artist whose work navigates the territory between abstraction and observation. Working predominantly in oil, she transforms accumulated visual impressions into compositions where colour, form, light, and spatial relationships function mostly as autonomous carriers of meaning. Rooted in intuition and an ongoing dialogue with the language of painting itself, her works inhabit a shifting space between abstraction and representation, inviting viewers to move freely between recognition and perception.
Elina's practice is grounded in a sustained investigation of painting's fundamental vocabulary: line, shape, colour, brushstroke, tonal value, and spatial relationships. These elements are approached not merely as vehicles of representation, but as autonomous visual agents capable of carrying meaning themselves. She is interested in painting's ability to speak through its own language, allowing form and colour to exist not as illustrations of an idea, but as subjects of inquiry in their own right.
