Kris Kawalowski

Krzysztof Kawałowski is a Polish contemporary artist based in Warsaw. His work begins with the human figure the face, the eyes, the body and the things people try not to show.

Trained in psychology and law, Kawałowski spent years observing people from two very different perspectives. This experience found its way into his painting: identity, intimacy, conflict, loneliness and the tension between what is visible and what remains hidden.

He works intuitively, often allowing a painting to change direction while it is being made. Figures emerge from colour, disappear into darkness or become part of organic structures. Eyes frequently remain sharply present a point of contact between the painting and the viewer.

Since 2023 his works have been presented at solo and group exhibitions, art events and unconventional urban spaces. His work is held in private collections. He lives and works in Warsaw.
