Lesli Uribe

"Now" is my expression about learning to live in The Now. Bottom line is: The University of Lesli Uribe is always in session, as is everyones (even if they are not aware of this fact). This series illustrates how my Now and Your Now, co-exists, collaborates, waxes and wanes surrounding each other, whether weaving through or passing by.

I cover the entire canvas with powdered graphite. With an eraser, I am uncovering the lines. Because my process is about the Now, there are no preconceived sketches. One of the notions that is subtle and hovers while I am working is
about how I have learned to appreciate my interpretation of Now while respecting and bearing witness of the never-ending Nows that I cross paths.

Graduate from Cooper Union in 1986. Married Alex Uribe in 1991, an amazing sculptor, and also a Cooper grad.. Have been a Cooper Couple for over 30 years.
