Maxine’s passion for sculpture stems from a fascination with capturing energy, emotion and fleeting ephemeral moments as permanent 3D memories. Most of her work is figurative, but she also loves sculpting animals and scenes from nature (especially tree-scapes). Maxine creates her original sculptures in clay, plaster, or mixed media, and many are then turned into cold-cast bronzes. She has also been building a portfolio of bas relief (2D wall sculpture), is focusing on larger outdoor works, and continues to experiment with new materials for her 3D work.
Maxine has studied at St Martin’s, the V&A, and Tate Britain in London. She has also had one-to-one tuition and has collaborated with Beatrice Hoffman, the celebrated Oxfordshire-based sculptor. In addition, in 2023 she took a year long Masterclass in bas relief.
Her works have been selected for exhibitions including Greys Court June 12-July 13 2025, Wye Valley Sculpture Park (until mid Sept 2025). Previously: the Royal Society of British Artists prestigious annual exhibition (2024), the Cotswold Sculpture Park (2024), National Trust (Greys Court Art in The Garden ), Odney Country Club (Cookham Sculpture Garden 2024), Henley Arts Trail 2024 (Leander Club). In May 2024, she supported the 118 Keys charity art sale at St Martins in the Crypt with a donation of The Reader.
