Marcela Krause

My inspiration is life itself, which is my recurring process of learning and evolution.
As such, through the exploration of several techniques and materials, and the use of textures and colors, I try to transmit the different emotions, thoughts and states of the deepest processes of each being in their own way.
Each of my works involves a clear intention, energy to be delivered and a message or concept to communicate.
I have explored different materials, techniques and supports on my path as an artist, letting them act and flow freely.

My experimentation work has given way to different processes and series of very different pieces of art.

During 2011 and 2012 I worked on the experimentation of transparencies in order to capture the concept related to our society’s need to give transparency and clarify our processes, to show ourselves vividly as we are, drop the masks, the complexities of being, while moving towards naturalness and simplicity of what it means to be oneself.

To achieve this concept I investigated different supports that allow transparency, showing the process and technique honestly, what exists in front and behind, as well as the different layers.

Marcela Krause is a designer from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master in Marketing and Communications. In 2007 Marcela channeled her profession to her big passion: visual art.

During her career, she has performed eight individual and ten collective exhibitions, both in Chile and abroad, including New York, Caracas and Lima.

Marcela also has participated in art fairs in Shanghai, Miami, Dubai and shortly in Australia. Her works have also been part of national and international auctions.

In December 2013, the International Association of Art Critics in Chile recognized her work as one of the twelve artists of the year, thus participating in the 12 x 12 Exhibition, New Media. In 2015 she was awarded the Pablo Neruda Prize from the Brazilian Literarte Association together with Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Her art pieces are part of national and international, private and governmental art collections. Among these, thirty-four works that are part of the permanent collection of the corporate building of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Chile stands out.
