Inspired by color, story and thoughtfully crafted making Niya anchors herself in the worlds of character creation/ illustration and abstract expressionism. Niya’s career training as a designer of products in the Bay Area influences how she approaches the designs of her stories and paintings. Niya is the author of several illustrated books including “Po'Bird: A wingless bird determined to fly” and “Seducing the Muse: Get unstuck with a creative love affair” 2017. Her paintings exhibit nationally and books are available through major book sellers. She lives and paints in Southern CA.

Inspired and influenced by: Corita Kent, Dr. Suess, Basquiat, Matisse, Kline, Gwaltney, O'Keeffe, Nathan Olivera, Deibenkorn, Maira Kalman, Kandinsky and Regina Saura.
