Geometry, Light and Shadows:-
Paul Cooklin is a British photographer celebrated for his dynamic documentary, architectural, and travel work. His portfolio is defined by emotional depth, striking composition, and the interplay of light and shadow. Whether capturing a bustling metropolis, the quiet majesty of architecture, or the stillness of remote landscapes, Cooklin invites viewers into narratives that feel both universal and deeply personal.
Q&A-
Your photographs capture the interplay of geometry, light, and shadow in settings ranging from urban architecture to remote landscapes. What draws you to these contrasting environments, and how do you approach translating their unique energy into your images?

Film, he discovered, was liberating. Digital offered endless manipulation; analogue demanded intention, patience, and trust in the process. Cooklin embraced darkroom printing, drawn to the tonal richness of silver gelatin. “Film carries an honesty that digital couldn’t replicate: every frame a direct reflection of the photographer’s skill and vision.”
Though he left digital art behind, its influence endures. The layering, abstract...
