Hi, I'm a Boston-based artist. My artworks are often whimsical drawings and experimental paintings. Abstract expressionism and surrealism are two of my favorite styles. I am inspired by their energy and creativity. During the three years of pandemic, I did mostly watercolor landscapes and narrative illustrations. The tranquility of watercolor was helpful. One of my (2023) acrylic painting projects is figure art, that celebrates the connections among friends. Another (2024) project is exploration of the motif of multiple horizons. When I am not making marks on canvas, I read, mostly poetry, and I write. My writing interests include children’s picture books, flash short stories, and short poems. My poems were selected for public reading, and on view at Boston City Hall: April-October 2016, 2022, and 2023. To me, the definition of good art is that the artwork does some good for the world in some way. This is the view I've gathered from the masterpiece mentioned in the short story The Last Leaf, written by O Henry. And as a contemporary musician Pink has said, one of the missions as an artist is to "help other people to change so that they can see more kinds of beauty." The other activities I have fun with, outside of 2D and 3D art, include songwriting, making music tracks, and putting short films together.
