TURBULANCE I - Limited Edition of 35 Print

I am an artist living and working in São Paulo, Brazil. I worked in the field of architecture and design and recieved many national and international prices in the design area. Chance is one of the elements that act in my artistic work. A painting can begin with a first random gesture that triggers a process. Sometimes it takes many sessions to finish a work, many layers and erasures until the final image is configured. Sometimes the process is quick, especially in works on paper, a light and precise gesture suggests the image. "The action is configured in the place of the unplanned and becomes the action that takes the eye far away". The curator Kátia Canton sees in the works of the Horizons series, an obsessive search to create a complex, restless image, between construction and dismantling, where one can feel the air, hear silence, where the eyes can wander. Other series are present in the my production, as paintings on paper, newspapers and “yellow pages”, works in encaustics, artist's books and abstract expressionistic paintings. Painting is a passion for me since I am a little child. The studio is my place of refuge and reflection, surrounded by the sound of music, everything is open and anything can happen. Recently I had a very important solo show in Campinas Contemporary Art Museum curated by one of the most important curators in Brazil, Prof. Fábio Magalhães.
