Rose De Groot

Contemporary Dutch/American painter. Has painted outdoors in the landscape for 27+ years. Currently exhibits at fine art galleries, art centers- and regional museums in the Netherlands and Ireland. Painting on site is a way for her to record a personal experience of Nature and its sublime, visceral reality. Her work is an amalgam of longstanding painting traditions and modern abstraction. Rose started her creative career in the United States as public relations specialist in the Fashion industry and Architectural sector prior to her work as artist.

Painting on site lets me experience Nature in its sublime and visceral reality.  It lets me take in the visual and sensory stimuli all around me, and express them through the materiality of the paint.
Metaphor pushes me beyond mere depiction and into a deeper awareness, into abstraction, an energetic transference of the great movement of life.
