Born in Africa , raised in Europe , Sonia moved to Canada in her late twenties and graduated in graphic design in 1989 at George Brown College in Toronto.
Then, raising a family, she attended art classes at Avenue road Art School, Klim School of Art, Artistic Way and Koffler Center - mostly under the tutoring of Sadko Hadzihasanovic - while freelancing portrait commissions.
French Baccalaureat.

She has exhibited her work in each of these schools over the years, and participated in shows like Sight-on-Sight with Artify in Toronto and Stratford, North York group of artist tours, at the Mackendrick Gallery Wychwood Barns, the Carrier Art Gallery and the 1313 Gallery.
