Pankaj Kumar Singh was born into a farmer’s family and grew up amidst the lush green landscape of his village, an environment that profoundly shaped his artistic vision. After completing his schooling in the village, he pursued Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Fine Arts from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, graduating in 2013.
During his formative years as an independent artist, Singh grappled with identifying his artistic direction. A significant turning point came during his stay in Baroda, Gujarat, where conversations with senior artists encouraged him to see art as a journey of self-exploration. This introspection led him back to his earliest and most enduring connection—nature.
Singh’s work reflects on the cyclical yet ever-renewing processes of the natural world. Although seasons appear to repeat, he perceives an inherent newness in each transformation. For him, nothing in the universe is ever truly static or complete; everything exists in a continuous state of becoming. His paintings explore the abstract structure of nature—its movement, transformation, and evolving forms.
