Artist. Photographer. Illustrator. ROMANTIC ESCAPISM channeling nostalgia and belonging.  Depicting a portrayal of organic, sensitive, thoughts and narratives,  I aim to look at the art of living and what that means for personal happiness. Considering the fleeting flash of sentimental memories  and conversations, my paintings strive to make even just one person feel seen. I love embellishing normal everyday moments to make them as special and saturated as they look when you remember them back. In my work I love to make flowers act and take on the role of environments, people, and inner thoughts.  I fragment portraits with contemporary colour choices, to reveal the emotion and facets it takes to make a human. Landscapes and their dreamy palettes reveal time for personal reflection with statement typography of musings that have inspired me whilst I paint. A central figure alongside the stems of flowers, and groups of people is the overarching symbolism of upward growth and the blossoming of personal spirit - whether it be an oil painting of a book that takes you back to fond memories in the summer, or a large scale artwork that invites you to join a group of figures all looking for the same feeling of safety and acceptance. I hope embracing the narrative and whimsy in my work can inspire your own story. The artworks are both an ode to the past, a celebration of the present, and an optimistic look towards the future.  Work experiments with media application and process - binding the line of realism, figurativeness and abstract with fine art and illustration. My eyes seem to see everything more saturated and vibrant which help lead my work into almost a dream state. This helps signs of encouragement - like a glimmer of sunshine to uphold the pieces. Joshua’s artwork is featured in the homes of Worldwide Art Collectors and aims to bring them joy and inspiration whenever they view it. "Joshuas paintings and photos help embellish a feeling of nostalgia, romance, dreams and freedom into the viewers mind."   "Spectacularly good with a charming naivety" - Michael Woolley.
