Alexa Baldessari

I am a young emerging artist from SouthTyrol, Italy, based in Lake Como.

My artistic production is primarily rooted in my origins and my background from South Tyrol, which constitutes a cultural "minority" in Italy. Thanks to this, I have developed a keen interest in other realities. This fact has influenced me in many different ways and has helped me appreciate and capture the beauty and peculiarities of other cultures and ethnicities. To emphasize the connection with national heritages and traditions, I use various media, from sculpture to photography, to video installations. Additionally, I employ a plethora of different materials, both industrial and artificial, as well as organic and natural, to explore the customs and traditions of different territories, which I represent through multimedia works.
I work in cycles that encompass different ethnicities and help me better represent and convey the atmosphere I want to create, in which I aim to immerse the viewer: a sensory experience.
