Andrew Bret Wallis

I work with a variety of creative mediums, including location and studio photography, digital painting & illustration, watercolour & gouache painting, and pencil & ink drawing. I frequently combine elements from several disciplines, as the finished image dictates. I am not a purist: the end result is what really matters to me. By sometimes scanning my original paintings & drawings I am able to overlay a variety of computer digital techniques to further enhance my work. My Ltd Edition mixed media paintings are created from the finished computer artwork in this way.
My more illustrative work is strongly influenced by the traditions of impressionism & pointillism (Claude Monet, George Seurat & Gustav Klimt)

Based in beautiful Nidderdale, North Yorkshire, I derive much of my creativity from my local surroundings. Many of my paintings and photographs are inspired by my local landscape.

My landscape photographs try to convey the silence and wonder I sense in the countryside throughout the seasons - particularly the Winter months and the transformative natural beauty of snow, frost and ice.
