Anysia Nefissi

Anysia Nefissi (born 1991 in Paris) is a French visual artist.

After living and working in London, she set up her studio at L’Éclair, an art collective space next to Paris.

Working with colour, matter and form, Anysia Nefissi is interested in the non-perceptible and the invisible, immersing herself in the heart of the quantum.

Between abstract painting and installations, she transcends the limits of physical elements in a new way, making the invisible visible.

Her whole work examines real substances not perceived by the human eye, exploring themes such as time, space, light, the sensory, memory, nature, energy and emotion.

With an aim to leave a mark on time and space, her practice is expressive and contemplative, encouraging introspection and sensory experimentation.

The artist questions our reality by looking at the concept of duality and the tension, the paradox that exists between the notions of visible and invisible, material and immaterial, body and mind, light and shadow, empty and full, present and absent, attraction and repulsion, weightlessness and anchorage, and known and unknown.
