While computer-generated drawings are a commercial boon for architects and engineers, they simply cannot generate the alluring romantic splendor created by hand drawn architectural art, a skill that is fast becoming history. I am personally grateful for the passion that has guided me through sixty years of architectural and engineering drawing in various forms, the majority of which has been by hand as a draftsman and chief draftsman for architects in New York, New Jersey, and North Carolina in the sixties and seventies, and again as a design engineer in the eighties and nineties. My passion for hand architectural drawing has recently been rekindled by a family member's request for a drawing of the Eiffel Tower. Finding the fun in drawing again, I intend to capture as many historic landmarks as possible - from local favorites to world renowned icons -drawn by hand in pencil on Mylar film before the skill becomes history itself. To that end I have begun a portfolio of some very recognizable landmarks along with a few local historic homes, and I am enthused and motivated to make the portfolio grow with more favorites from around the world.
