When I paint scenery, it depicts a landscape that seems to be the beginning or the end of a very distant future, which I cannot decipher. Sometimes it feels like the landscape is a multitude of layers accumulated over a very long time since the very beginning. It is related to the question, “Where do we come from and where are we going?”
