Pari creates mixed-media abstract artwork by blending closeup captures of tree bark with delicate application of metal leaf, adding depth and a three-dimensional quality that shifts with the light throughout the day. Each piece unveils multiple layers and hidden details, offering new perspectives depending on the amount and the direction of the light. Her artworks are often signed with metal leaf on opposing corners, allowing for versatile hanging and creating the potential for four distinct views in one piece. Her creative process begins with a photograph of a tree trunk, carefully cropped to reveal a small section,The image is then pigment printed onto Matt Textured FineArt paper. The gilding process unfolds organically. As it settles, the three-dimensional quality draws attention to the unseen secondary life and landscape existing upon the bark's surface, inviting viewers to contemplate the beauty lying beneath the surface—a realm hidden from casual observation now brought to the forefront. Pari is an Iranian-born, self taught british artist.
She left Iran as a child during the 1978 Iranian revolution to come to the UK.
After her secondary school education in an all girls school in North London, she studied Dentistry at Sheffield University Dental School where she worked for a year as a house officer before meeting her husband and relocating to Canterbury.
Pari retired 6 years ago after a successful career in dentistry to follow her life long passions for art and photography.
