ABOUT
EDUCATION

Born 1955, in London. Since 1986 I have worked as a painter and illustrator in Selva, a small town in the centre of Mallorca. I am married to another English ex-archaeologist, and have two daughters who were born in Mallorca
I trained and worked initially as an archaeologist, specializing in prehistory, and my interest in the past informs most of the work that I do. I work in a number of mediums, principally acrylic and oil. I’ve worked on around 200 books, my illustrations are mainly digital, but I have also worked in watercolour, ink and pastel.
The scale of work varies from small illustrations, to large scale murals.

I have a B.A in archaeology from Cardiff university. This was followed by three years researching Upper Paleolithic art at The Institute of Archaeology, London.
I worked for five years as a field archaeologist and archaeological illustrator, including directing excavations of various prehistoric sites.
Since coming to Mallorca I have participated in numerous collective exhibitions and have had more than 20 individual exhibitions.
I have provided illustrations for more than 100 books and my latest exhibitions have included:
Es Circ (on the history of the circus), Sa Mina (the story of coal mining in Mallorca in the xix an early xx century), Los Rondalles Mallorquines (folktales of Mallorca), Es Jardi (xviii century gardens), La comedia tragica o la tragica comedia de Mr Punch (History of Punch and Judy), The travels of Sir John Mandeville, The history of Anatomy, Evolution, Birds, Insects, Fish, The Brother’s Grimm Folktales.
